Steelseries – Siberia v3

Soft to your ears

I did purchase one of these Siberia v3 and can recommend them. They cover the ear completly and are very soft. Especially for people like me, who wear glasses, its very important that the preasure on the ear isn’t that high.

Nice sound, decent bass

The sound quality is good as far as i can tell, great bass also. I also have some Panasonic headphones which also provide a decent sound quality and bass and look pretty awesome, but these don’t cover my ear completly, what makes them hurt over time but that’s my own fault.

Experience with Arma 3 and Siberia v3

In my opinion the Steelseries Siberia v3 are worth the money. Paired with my new Asus Xonar D2X i had a vast experience in Arma 3 today during first tests. Couldn’t test the microphone yet but i doubt that there will be an issue. Arma 3 is a single and multiplayer strategy wargame with almost all kinds of military units like choppers, aircrafts, vehicles, submarines and so on. I didn’t publish any content yet about Arma 3 but this might change in a few weeks.

The thumbnail-long microphone

The microphone on the Siberia V3, which indeed is not longer than a thumbnail and located on the left ear, seem to perform quite good. When i tested it on my own i did experience way too much echoing but on teamspeak the communication partners couldn’t confirm this. In fact, they said its a crystal clear sound they are getting from my microphone.

Another BIOS release for x99 Deluxe

Asus just did release another BIOS for the Asus x99 Deluxe. We are now at Version 1601 1702.

With BIOS 1502/1601 .. the problem width Audio somehow disappeared for now or maybe the emitting component in my circuits. However i wasn’t happy with the digital to analog converter since it requires additional power supply and using usb power insead of power supply was a bad choice since the emitted frequencies i had earlier were injected in that converter too.
